Ideas. They can't just stick in your mind. You've got to take a step. No matter how small that step is. Yes, it's very scary. We are talking on how we want to bring something different to our general market. I'm going to side track for a moment. But I promise, it will all make sense in the end.
As people, we categorize. Everything is put into 'boxes.' No matter how much of a hipster or anti-label(est) we think we are, we do it. It is the psychology of each and every human being. From why you dress a certain way, to listen to a certain type of music, or drink a certain style of coffee. In our post-modernity we speak as if these boxes should be completely demolished. And to an extent, there is some validity to this, but it's not the full picture. One very great example of this way of thinking is in the saying,
Here is the ironicness of the anarchy of this statement, the 'box' is still the central focal point. The secret of life, that all greats understand is that the trick is to expand their boxes. From Steve Jobs, Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates, Ghandi, and Jesus, they knew this essential truth. For one of the problems of thinking so far outside of your box, is that you alienate people. So, there is this balance of keeping one foot in the 'box' you grew up with (conditions, ideas, beliefs, etc) while at the same time overstepping your socialnorms and thinking "differently." For, it is this mentality that allows someone (or a business) to create something that is set apart from the rest, but that people need (even if they aren't aware they need it at the moment).
Now, back to our talk in the coffee shop. We want to be different. We want our products to be different. We want what we do to stand out. Having this mentality, allows us to bounce any idea off of the creative wall. No matter, how seemingly stupid the idea seems. In our space, all boxes are welcome even if the person beside you doesn't understand it fully. At the end of our meeting, we decided on which route we wanted to go . Nonetheless, routes have minds of their own. Veering not too far away, but enough to help us tremendously.
Guess what? There is something magical about allowing space for innovation and creativity. With lots of research and experimentation. Majority of the research only telling us, "Don't do this.." We came across, the recipe for our Coffee Pop (the name we are given it). We don't want this product or any of our products to just be set apart. We want it to be the best, for you. We want this to be YOUR Coffee Pop. We want this to be OUR Coffee Pop. We want this to be the WORLD's Coffee Pop.
So together, lets innovate, create, and expand one box at a time.
